Gym Management Platform MVP for a Fitness Technology Company
A gym owner runs on a pile of small tools: paper memberships, door fobs, cash at the counter and bookings in someone's head. Each works alone, and the owner pays for the gaps. Trainers keep their clients in their own phones, so the venue has little to hold them. A fitness technology company wanted one platform with the member's phone at the centre. Hygge built the MVP, where the phone carries the membership, opens the door and pays at the counter. Owners got an admin panel, and trainers got a place to sell their programmes.

How Many Separate Tools Does Your Venue Run On?
If memberships, doors, payments and bookings each live in their own tool, we start with a map of one member's visit. You get a proposal with the scope, team, timeline and cost.
Where a Gym Runs on Separate Small Tools
Every small tool works on its own, and the cost lands on the owner.
Memberships on Paper
Plans and renewals tracked by hand leave no reliable record of who is a member.
Keys and Fobs
Physical access means cards to issue, fobs to lose and someone at the desk to check.
Cash at the Counter
Purchases inside the gym sit apart from the membership and get matched up at the end of the day.
Bookings in Someone's Head
Classes and slots are hard to plan when the owner cannot see what fills.
Trainers Working Off Platform
A trainer's client list lives in their phone, so the venue has little to hold them.
The Challenge
The client set out to replace paper memberships, door fobs, counter cash and informal bookings with one platform. One requirement shaped the architecture. The member's phone had to carry the membership, open the physical door and pay at the counter. During the work, the scope widened. What was designed for gyms also fit yoga studios, dance schools and swimming pools. The platform had to adapt to any type of active space.
Replace a set of separate tools with one platform, with the member's phone at its centre.
Our Solution
Members get a mobile app that sells them a plan, opens the door and takes payment inside the venue. It also handles bookings and keeps training history, physical condition and progress. That profile follows the member between locations. Owners get schedules, staff and client flows, statistics, marketing campaigns and settings for any type of venue. Trainers run clients online and offline, and publish and sell their own programmes. Hygge built it cross-platform: React Native and Expo on mobile, React and Next.js on the web. The NestJS back end runs services that talk over gRPC. We chose that shape so the platform can grow into new kinds of venue.
Three views onto one system: members, owners and trainers.
How the Gym Management Software Solves It
Each card answers one problem above.
Plans Sold in the App
The member buys a plan on the phone, so there is one record of who is a member.
The Phone Opens the Door
The member app unlocks the venue, with no cards or fobs to issue.
Payments on the Same Record
Purchases inside the venue go through the app and sit next to the membership.
Bookings the Owner Can See
Classes are booked in the app, and the admin panel shows what fills.
Trainers Sell Inside the Platform
Coaches publish and sell programmes where the venue can see them.
What Hygge Built
Each role sees the same data from its own side.
Phone as Door Key
The member app unlocks the venue door, so there are no cards or fobs to issue.
Payments Inside the Venue
Purchases go through the app, so the till and the membership share one record.
Bookings and Reviews
Classes are booked in advance and reviewed afterwards.
Profile That Travels
Training history, physical condition and progress follow the member between locations.
Owner Admin Panel
Schedules, staff, client flows, statistics and marketing campaigns in one place.
Trainer Marketplace
Trainers sell their own programmes and build a following inside the platform.
What Runs Without Anyone Pressing a Button
Once a member has a plan, the phone handles the visit.
The Door Opens From the App
The member walks in with the phone, without a card check at the desk.
Purchases Land on the Membership
Anything bought inside the venue is recorded against the member.
Progress Builds in the Profile
Sessions, condition and suggestions add up in the member's profile.
