Wholesale Ordering App for Petrey Wholesale
Petrey Wholesale has supplied convenience stores across six Southeastern states since 1898. It stocks more than 8,000 products and delivers weekly. Store owners order between serving customers, and a missed order waits a week. The system also had to run for years without a team watching it, and stay fixable by someone new. We built a React Native ordering app and a Laravel back end, in Docker with a GitLab CI pipeline. Years later, a server crashed. The team picked the system up and fixed it within an hour.

Could Anyone Fix Your App If It Broke Next Year?
If your customers reorder on fixed delivery days, we start with a map of how they order today. You get a proposal with the scope, team, timeline and cost.
Where Wholesale Ordering Breaks
A distributor serving convenience stores lives on repeat orders across a large catalogue.
Thousands of Products
A catalogue of more than 8,000 items has to be easy to find on a phone.
Orders Tied to Delivery Days
Stores order ahead of a weekly delivery, so a missed order waits a week.
Orders Placed Between Customers
Store owners order from the shop floor, between serving the people at the counter.
Support Years After Launch
A system that runs quietly for years still has to be fixable by someone who never touched it.
The Challenge
Petrey Wholesale has supplied convenience stores across the Southeast since 1898. It runs warehouses in Montgomery, Birmingham and Petrey, Alabama. It stocks more than 8,000 products and delivers weekly to stores up to about 500 miles away. Petrey needed a mobile app to sell to its customers, backed by a system for the catalogue, accounts and orders. The business had to rely on it for years without a team watching it.
A family-owned distributor with a large catalogue and a delivery network across six states.
Our Solution
We built the app in React Native with Expo, so one codebase serves iOS and Android. The back end runs on PHP and Laravel and handles the catalogue, accounts and orders. The back end runs in Docker containers and deploys through GitLab CI. Years later, when a server crashed, the team picked the system up, found the issue and fixed it within an hour.
A cross-platform ordering app on a back end built to be picked up years later.
How the Wholesale Ordering App Solves It
Each card answers a problem above.
One App for iOS and Android
React Native with Expo serves both platforms from one codebase.
The Whole Order on the Phone
From the catalogue to the order review, the order runs end to end on the phone.
Reorder From History
Past orders sit in the app, ready to order again before the delivery day.
Environments Anyone Can Rebuild
Docker and Docker Compose make the setup the same on any machine.
Deploys That Repeat
A GitLab CI pipeline set up at build time keeps deploys the same years later.
